The third of four soccer fields in the newly constructed 100 Mile House & District Soccer Association Soccer Park has a name and a sponsor.
Sunrise Ford owner Leon Chrétien has stepped up to the plate with the required $20,000 sponsorship amount, which will be paid in three installments over three years.
He says the field will be named Sunrise Field, as the name, Sunrise Ford Field just didn’t flow, and he’s happy to be a sponsor.
“My kids love soccer and this is an awesome facility. I was very surprised when I moved here to find that good facility. They’ve put a lot into it.”
Werner Heine, soccer club sponsorship and communications director, says he’s thrilled about Sunrise coming onboard.
“We are extremely excited a local company did that for us. We had gone to multi-nationals looking for sponsors with no luck. We still have outstanding commitments on these fields and this is a way to help us deal with that.”
The sponsorship is a lifetime deal where fields will be referred to by their sponsorship names on all communication schedules and references to them, he adds.
There is one field left to sponsor, and Heine says spreading the sponsorship payment over a few years as Sunrise Ford did, is something that others might also want to consider.
The club’s soccer season begins in early May.
