As it turned out, a disallowed goal that was in proved to be the TSN turning point as Fraser River took no prisoners in their 7-3 win over Serenity.

With the victory, the Chevy Crew are now only a point out of first and are riding a three-game win streak.

Playing like a man on a mission was potential rookie of the year Levon “Young Gun” Johnson, who went two better than a hat-trick as he riddled the Builder tender for five goals.

Arguably, players 34 years older than “Young Gun” can also still contribute, and that was the case for Randy “Killer” Crofts, who scored once and assisted on a pair.

Also having fine games were Bob “BIG” Merta, who scored on a screen shot as he drew one assist, and Shane “The Pain” Thon, who collected a pair of helpers and inflicted several bruises on the opposition.

The Builders couldn’t do much as they were shut-out in the first half with Trevor “Gordie” Howe making a collection of scintillating saves in the Fraser River cage.

The contest on the old rink saw an even more dominating performance as Bear increased the BCS losing streak to six in the 8-5 final.

Leading all scorers was Jason “Firecracker” Forman, who scored a late hat-trick to go with a fistful of helpers for an unprecedented eight-point morning.

Scoring a pair apiece for the Communicators was Richard “Man with the Golden Gloves” Lindstrom and Brody “Howdy Ho” Neighbour, who both pushed their totals to three tallies this season.

Doing his best to lead his squad to a victory was Kevin “Captain Baywatch” Hesslegrave, who also notched the hat-trick plus two apples.

A couple of plumbers both did their jobs, with “Jack” Russell Higdon and Budd “Crash” Carter both scoring garbage goals after crashing the net.
