Fraser River continues to gain momentum as they extend their streak to four in a 7-3 blood bath over BCS, while Bear bends but doesn’t break in a 5-4 win over Serenity.
Fraser River’s second consecutive 7-3 victory was not only their fourth win in a row, it also propelled them into first place for the first time this season.
How long they will remain in the Penthouse is anybody’s guess, but if they continue to score at the rate they are currently on (30 goals in four games) it could be an extended stay.
BCS were this week’s victims and their depleted roster was no match for the high revving Chevy Crew that appeared oblivious to their recent plant closures.
Leading the way this week was El Capitan Ian “Heartbreaker” Hannah who notched the hat trick and drew an assist on Randy “Killer” Crofts fifth of the season. “Killer” wasn’t done there as he and Warren “Hillbilly” Dagenais both collected a pair of apples.
Deciding it was better to give than receive was Levon “Young Gun” Johnson who is on a ridiculous 9-1 goals to assists roll the past 2.1 games; he collected three straight assists for a four-point morning.
Returning to his feisty self and finally getting off the Schneid was BCS’s Jim “Soupy” Sales who scored once, assisted on a pair and sat for three after a lively brouhaha. Rumour has it that the BCS management team is contemplating drastic measures to try and halt their seven-game skid as their sponsor does not enjoy losing on such a regular basis.
The other contest also featured some blood-letting but it was caused by a deflected puck to the teeth not a stick to the chops.

On the score sheet it was a 5-4 win by Bear who almost blew a four-goal lead as Serenity vainly tried to correct another terrible start.
Bear came out of their den running as they all stepped up to get the win for their eight-point man who was forced to don the pads for the candy-striped crew.
Feasting on the porous Serenity defence, which was backed up by a feeble backcheck, was Wade Price “Is right” who scored a pair and drew an assist despite missing several other glorious chances.
Playing with 20-20 vision was Eric “Bonsai” Bodman who made several nifty moves on the point as he collected a rebound goal and assisted on a couple of beauties.
Also having a fine game for Bear was “RCA” Victor Hegan who assisted on a Brody “Good” Neighbour goal before one-timing what proved to be the winning marker.
Serenity one-upped their start from a week ago as they were down four zip before they decided to cue the comeback.
Two unassisted howitzers from Cam “Shaft” Graham sandwiched a knuckleball shot from the point from Cliff “Hanger” Hunik which created a frantic last minute after Jordan “Senior” Johnson cut the deficit to one.
In the end, Jason “Firecracker” Forman wouldn’t be denied in the Bear cage, earning his first victory of the season.
