Pacific FC has added a big name in B.C. sports to its management team for the club’s inaugural 2019 season.
Longtime B.C. sportscaster Mira Lawrence will be the director of communications and community partnerships.
“I’ve been fortunate in my career to be a part of a few sports start-ups and I’m excited to come back to Vancouver Island to do something special,” Laurence said. “Pacific Football Club offers me a new challenge and opportunity to engage with the community.”
Looking forward to being back in the game with you as well! #fortheisle #PacificFC https://t.co/1OrkwdWpJ4

Laurence has an extensive history in broadcast journalism, specializing in sports and covering the Vancouver Canucks. She’s spent the bulk of her career on the Island, where she was named among Vancouver Island’s top 20 under 40 and worked as part of the advisory committee for the HarbourCats.
“We are looking to build an exceptional club that will bring the best professional football experience to the community,” said Brad Norris-Jones, executive vice presidents of operations. “Mira is one of the best sports communicators in the business and will be a great fit for our organization.”
Langford-based Pacific FC was founded in 2018 in an effort to bring professional soccer to Vancouver Island. The Canadian Premier League season kicks off in April.
