Oceanside Minor Softball graduates got reunited at the Western Collegiate Softball Association Championships in Kelowna recently but they were playing for different teams.
Cassidy Kellow, Jaymi Wallace and Syvanna McNichol, who all played for the Oceanside Rage team, represented UBC Okanagan’s Junior Varsity, Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, and University of Victoria, respectively.
Oceanside Softball is proud of its three products, who saw action at the event hosted by the UBCO Heat in Kelowna at High Noon Park.
Wallace was named SAIT Trojan’s MVP and top batter in 2018.
The WCSA consist of seven Western Canadian collegiate softball teams from British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
They include University of Calgary Dinos, the University of Regina Cougars, the University of Saskatchewan Huskies, SAIT Trojans, the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns, the UBC Okanagan Heat, and the Briercrest College Clippers. Mount Royal University students in Calgary are eligible to play as well as part of a blended team with SAIT Polytechnic. The University of Victoria Vikes are in their inaugural season playing an exhibition schedule for 2019.
