The Immaculata Mustangs are savouring their fourth consecutive Okanagan Valley A girls soccer title.
The Mustangs secured the valley championship Thursday with a 3-0 victory over the Osoyoos Rattlers in the final game.
Immaculata left little doubt about the outcome early in the match, connecting for three goals in the first nine minutes of play.
Emma Johnson and Kate Johnson supplied the goals for the Mustangs.
It was Immaculata’s fourth straight valley title and sixth overall.
The Mustangs started the tournament with convincing wins over Clearwater and Heritage Christian. Goals were scored by Ashlyn Day (3), Kate Johnson, Erin Graham (2), Jaedyn Penkala, Emma Johnson (3), and Kat Routley.
In the semi-final against St. Ann’s, the Mustangs controlled the first half, but found themselves in a 0-0 tie at the half. Immaculata stormed out of the gate in the second half, scoring four goals in a seven-minute span to take control the match for good..

The Mustangs will now turn their attention to the B.C. Schools Sports A girls soccer finals being at UBC in Vancouver from May 29 to 1. The Mustangs are expected to go into the tournament ranked No. 1 after capturing the championship in 2013.
