Fraser-Cascade schools come together for annual track and field competition

Kent Elementary was host to this year's event, which saw students from Boston Bar to Seabird Island

The sun was hot over Kent Elementary’s fields on Thursday, June 13, but that didn’t stop hundreds of students from giving their best effort at the annual track and field competition.

Students from across the Fraser Cascade School District (Kent Elementary, Harrison Hot Springs Elementary, Boston Bar Elementary, Coquihalla Elementary, Silver Creek Elementary, AESS and Hope Secondary), as well as students from Agassiz Christian School and Seabird Island Community School came out to Kent Elementary for the district’s annual track and field competition.

Boys and girls from Grades 4 to 7 competed in long jump, shot put, ball throw and high jump, as well as the 100-metre dash, the 400-metre dash and relays.

The all-around winners of the 2019 District Track and Field competition are:

Grade 4 Girls: Zeplyn Jarvis – Agassiz Christian School; Charlie (waiting for last name confirmation) – Coquihalla Elementary (tie)

Grade 4 Boys: Warren Wheeler – Kent Elementary

Grade 5 Girls: Brooke Andres – Coquihalla Elementary

Grade 5 Boys: Dayton Lees – Kent Elementary; Colby Fawcett – Coquihalla Elementary (tie)

Grade 6 Girls: Aaliyah Fraser-Michell -Kent Elementary

Grade 6 Boys: Reinaldo McInroy – Harrison Hot Springs Elementary

Grade 7 Girls: Tanya Rempel – AESS

​Grade 7 Boys: Quinn Robinson – Hope Secondary; Kyler Anglehart – AESS (tie)
