Free curling lessons ahead of season

'Something for everyone' at 100 Mile Curling Club

Registrations for the 100 Mile House Curling Club are slated for Oct. 3 between 4 and 8 p.m. at the rink next to South Cariboo Rec. Centre on Airport Road.

We’ve got something in our club for everyone,” says club representative Wayne Venos.

It’s lots of fun. It’s really low key. There are leagues for everybody. That’s the beauty of curling.”

The club has close to 250 members. Leagues this year include Men’s (Wednesday evenings), Ladies (Thursday evenings), Mixed (Tuesday evenings), Drop In (midday Wednesdays), Juniors (Tuesday afternoons) and Business (Monday evenings).

We want to increase and promote curling. It’s a healthy sport. It’s a great way for new people in our district to meet new people.”

New curlers are welcome and for beginners there are free curling lessons offered from Oct. 7 to 10 at 6 p.m. Interested people can call 250-395-4237 to register.

People don’t need to be shy. If they’re not sure, they can come out and learn.”
