Skijoring is trying to gain a foothold in the South Cariboo, and to get more people excited about the sport, enthusiast Craig Conklin is holding a free workshop on Dec. 19 at 10 a.m. at The Hills Health Ranch.
Skijoring involves strapping yourself to a pair of cross-country skis and harnessing yourself to a dog for some great exercise, while touring snow-packed trails.
During the workshop, Conklin will explain how to use the equipment and demonstrate techniques.
“It’s a fun sport and I’d like to see more people get involved. It’s a great way to exercise your dog.”
People should meet at the front of the main building, and Conklin recommends that dogs be left at home for this session.
