Full night of racing at Saratoga Speedway

Yet another beautiful clear Black Creek night awaited over 50 cars at Saratoga Speedway on Saturday.

Thirty-three Hornets, 10 I.M.C.A Modifieds, nine Bomber cars and seven Old Time Modified Stock cars filled the pits.

In Heat races, #22 Larry Joyce take home the Old Timer event, with the reverse going to #35 Kail Beck. The Bomber heat went to #87 Boston Larson, with the four Hornet heats going to #35 Serina Hintz (her first-ever win), #75 Gord Plain, #62 Shawn Allen, and #99 Glenn White. The Modified heats saw #01 Jeff May and #72 Travis Stevenson take home the wins.

Thirty laps were awarded to the Bomber main which featured a tight battle among #87 Larson, #5 Darren Larson, #11 Justin Beaulieu and #98 Gilles Cyr.

Beaulieu held the lead for 18 laps until an altercation dropped him from contention, opening the door for the rest of the pack with Cyr taking the lead on lap 23 and holding on to win his first main event of the year.

Twenty laps were given to the Old Timer main  which saw #1 James Campbell lead all but five laps to take home the win. Two 25-lap Hornet main events saw #81 Andy Inglis (racing for the first time this year in the B division) grab the lead on lap eight and take home his first win in his first race of the year.

The A main saw Lawrenuk once again dominate, jumping to an early lead and holding on to take his third main event win of the year.

Ten cars entered the exciting 30-lap Modified main event. #89 Gregg Sagmoen led for the first 20 laps, but #72 Travis Stevenson made his way around Sagmoen then took advantage of a good restart and went on the win his first main event of the year and grab the points lead.

EXTRA LAPS This weekend the Crash to Pass cars return to Saratoga … the crowd favourite Crash to Pass cars will be accompanied by the Hornets and Roadrunners … June 13 marks the first appearance of the Dwarf cars this year … these cars are very much like the Old Time Modified Stocks but in a much smaller form … accompanying them will be the I.M.C.A Modifieds, Hornets, Bombers and Motorcycles …
