Participants will compete across 18 different sports

2,220 participants from across BC will attend the Games (1,534 athletes, 363 coaches, and 214 officials)

Competition will be held in 18 sports

Age range: The youngest possible athletes will be 9 years old in Figure Skating, and the oldest
possible able bodied athletes will be 17 years old in Hockey – Female and Netball.

Athletes with a disability will range in age from 13 to 40 and will compete in Basketball –
Wheelchair, Basketball – Special Olympics, Skiing – Alpine (Para), and Skiing – Cross Country (Para).

The Volunteers

President Brian Antonson and fourteen Directors work with approximately 125 volunteer Chairs, each of whom have a committee of volunteers responsible for different operational areas of the Games

Approximately 2,500 volunteers will be involved
Funding
• Base funding of $525,000 is provided by the Province of BC through the BC Games Society
• The City of Mission is providing $45,000 cash and $50,000 in-kind services to the Games
• School District #75 are providing classrooms as dorms for housing Games participants and facilities for sports and other events
• Corporate Partners provide cash and in-kind services
• Friends of the Games – local business and industry – contribute cash and in-kind services/goods
