The Walnut Grove Gators junior boys basketball team went 1-2 at the Candy Cane Classic last week.
The three-day round-robin tournament was held at Walnut Grove Secondary from Dec. 4 to 6.
The Gators lost a thriller in the opener, falling 52-49 to the St. Georges Saints.
The team’s second contest was also a close affair with Walnut Grove coming out on the short end of a 47-42 score to the Cowichan Thunderbirds.
The Gators closed the tournament with a decisive 59-29 win over the Semiahmoo Totems.
