Lumby’s Ted Luszcz Bulldozing Dozers gave the White House Mortgage Gators all they could handle, falling 17-16 in extra innings Wednesday night at Kin Park.
The Gators’ Annie Oakley, who went 5-for-6 with four RBI, smacked the winning hit in the bottom of the eighth inning of the Vernon Square Liquor Store Women’s Slo-Pitch League playoff tilt.
Jenn Thatcher (5-for-5, 3 RBI), Kelli Graham (4-for-5) and Kelly Jenner (4-for-5) chipped in offensively for the White House crew. Kate Carter, Michelle Embleton, Melissa Locke and Aundra Johnson combined for nine ribbies.
The Dozers, who ranked fourth in the five-team loop, were led by the hot bat of Kassidy O’Neill, who went 4-for-5 with a triple. Sherry Kineshanko (double, 3 RBI) and Karen Derry were both 3-for-4. Outfielder Michelle Mulholland and Vanessa Bostock each went 3-for-5, with Mulholland cracking a double and two RBI, and Bostock delivering a game-starting triple.
The Dozers’ Katie Nagy made a heads-up throw out to second base from home, followed by shortstop Trina Maltman running down a base runner to force extra innings.
The Dozers opened the night by doubling the fifth-place Dynamite 12-7.
Kineshanko led the Dozers on the mound and at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI. Mulholland went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Maltman and first baseman Traci Kenney also went 3-for-4 with two ribbies each.
Other Wednesday night results had the No. 3 Ice Cold Pitches stuffing No. 2 Dave’s Mobile Mechanic Devils 18-11, and the Devils outgunning he Dynamite 25-13.
Playoff action resumes Wednesday, 6 p.m., at Kin Park, with the Pitches taking on the Gators, and the Devils meeting the Dozers.
