With a few spots left on their roster, the Save-On-Foods Oceanside Generals spent the remaining hours of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL) roster deadline looking to make a few more moves.
After shipping Brodie Smith to the Westshore Wolves for Matteo Giomo, the Generals were left with two open spots remaining on their team heading into the deadline on Sunday.
Both Logan Savard and Josh Harvey signed on with the Humboldt Broncos of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.
“We’re very proud for Savard and Harvey,” General Manager Rob Gaudreault said.
“Both players worked hard every game they were in the lineup for us and we’re very excited for them to be moving onto the next level in their careers.”
With about three and a half hours left until the midnight deadline on Sunday evening, Gaudreault said there were four potential deals still on the table.
“We’re trying to make some moves,” Gaudreault said. “We’ve got room to bring in players with Savard and Harvey leaving, so we’re going to try and do what we can to make this team better going forward.”
