Gibraltar takes Inter Mill crown

Gibraltar Mine were the winners of this year’s Inter Mill Hockey League playoffs, defeating West Fraser Sawmill late March for the championship.

Gibraltar Mine were the winners of this year’s Inter Mill Hockey League playoffs, defeating West Fraser Sawmill late March for the championship.

Gibraltar Mines won the championship game at Williams Lake’s Cariboo Memorial Complex, 7-4.

Scoring for Gibraltar were Ed Fraser (2), Ben Peirce (2), Joel Carter, Rollie Doucette and Rob Gill.

West Fraser’s Dave Carnes and Dave Best each scored twice in the losing effort.

In the battle for third and fourth place, West Fraser Plywood defeated Mount Polley Mine 13-5.

Finishing in fifth place was Tolko Lakeview.

At the final tournament, each team played twice for a total of five games.

En route to the final West Fraser Sawmill downed West Fraser Playwood, 4-1, while Gibraltar defeated Mount Polley Mine 10-1.
