Six Chilliwack Spartan swimmers competed in the BC AAA Provincial Championships, held July 5-6 in Richmond.
The locals tacked 650 of the best age-group swimmers in the province, with two of the Spartans bringing home hardware.
Jessie Gibson (14-year-old girls division) earned gold in the 200m butterfly. She scored silver in the 100m freestyle and added bronze medals in the 100m butterfly and 200m freestyle. In her other races, Gibson finished fifth in the 200m backstroke, sixth in the 200m individual medley and seventh in the 100m backstroke.
On the boys side, Carson Olafson got bronze in the 100m backstroke, finishing fourth in the 100m fly, 200m backstroke and 400m freestyle. Olafson was fifth in the 50m freestyle and sixth in the 1500m freestyle.
A handful of Spartans are currently prepping for the Age Group Nationals, taking place July 25-29 in Calgary.
