Northern B.C. girls from Grade 3 to 12 filled Vanderhoof’s arena for a weekend of hockey this month.

On Feb. 11 and 12, players travelling from communities across the region, including Prince Rupert and Prince George, gathered in Vanderhoof to pass and shoot pucks in eight female-only teams of all levels — novice to bantam.

Vanderhoof’s girl hockey will next compete in the Atom Girls division of a Prince George tournament on March 10, and Midget and Bantam players will travel south to Richmond at the end of March for the 20th Annual Ice Classic Female Hockey Tournament.
