Both the U13 and the U17 Thompson Okanagan FC girls found gold at the North Shore Rep Soccer Tournament last weekend.
The U13 girls were entered in the U14/15 gold level division and they clipped the U14 North Shore Flames 2-1 in the playoff final Monday.
Earlier, TOFC grounded the U14 North Shore Vipers 2-0, stuffed the U14 Whistler Avalanche 5-1 and edged the U15 North Shore Sidewinders. Olivia McLennan of Vernon is on the U13 roster.
The U17 girls played in the U18 division and they shut down North Shore 1-0 in Monday’s championship final with a Nikki Manwaring (Kamloops) corner which deflected in off a defender.
The girls opened the tournament with a 1 -1 tie against Coquitlam Metro Ford with Manwaring scoring on a long strike.
On Sunday, they delivered two stellar performances, icing North Shore 4-1 with Manwaring (3) and Hannah Love of Vernon handling the offence, and blanking Port Coquitlam 3-0 on snipes from Aryana Jacura (Vernon), Jaedyn Penkala (PK, Kelowna) and Moraya Harrison (Kamloops).
Sarah Huber, Teigan Moore and Maddy Laranjo, all of Vernon, were also in the gold-medal lineup.
