The Golden Ears United Lightning Division 2 women’s soccer team are division champions after topping Richmond FC Olympic 2-1 in a shoot-out March 27 at the South Surrey Athletic Park. The Lightning were unbeaten in league play this season, going 11-0-2 to pick up 35 points in just 13 games. Golden Ears United’s women’s U-21 Sporting squad also went to a shoot-out in their cup final with the Surrey Breaker Blaze, however they were not able pull out the victory, falling 3-2. Sporting settle for second place in the U-21 Silver Division, after finishing the regular season with a record of 11-2-1.
