The Golden Rockets have already started working toward next season.
Recently, the Golden Rockets announced the commitment of Connor Nolan for the 2019/20 season. Nolan hails from Calgary, Alta. and has demonstrated a scorers touch all throughout his minor hockey career.
Nolan collected 39 points in 25 games as a 16 year old in the Calgary midget AA league and followed up that season playing with the Calgary Midget AAA Northstars earning 29 points in 34 games while helping his Alberta Minor Hockey League (AMHL) team to a third place finish in the regular season.
“I selected the Golden Rockets because I like their program on and off ice. I look forward to the next step and development in my hockey career under coach Jeremy Blumes,” he said.
Nolan will be attending Junior A camps this spring and if another year of development is required Nolan has chosen the Rockets as the organization that can best help his development.
“[Nolan] checks all the boxes. The number one priority for us is that he is a strong character person that will fit in well with the culture we have established. Number two, scoring is at a premium and we believe [Nolan’s] tenacity, vision, and touch will be a considerable asset. All that being said, we believe Nolan is a strong candidate to be playing Junior A next season and we’ll see how that all plays out,” Golden Rockets head coach Blumes said.
The Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) Calgary Mustangs and Golden Rockets Spring Combine takes place in Calgary, Aalta. from May 10 to 12.
The Saskatoon, Sask. Showcase takes place from May 31 to June 2.
