Kitimat swimmers were treated to a beautiful drive and some great wins at their swim meet in Prince Rupert over the weekend of October 18.
The North Coast Invitational Swim Meet was won by the Prince Rupert Amateur Swim Club (PRASC) with a team score of 1055, ahead of the Prince George Barracudas Swim Club in second with 445, followed by the Marlins, the Terrace Bluebacks Swim Club and the Bulkley Valley Otters Swim Club.
Marlins’ medalists were Mason Fernandes (3 bronze), Megan Forrest (4 gold, 3 silver), Dallas Gray (4 gold, 2 silver), Hayden Grinceri (1 gold), Jadyn Johnston (5 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze), Lucas Johnston (1 gold, 5 silver, 1 bronze), Adam Malina (1 gold), Abbee Rusconi (2 gold, 2 bronze), Grayden Rusconi (3 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze), Iris Striker (1 gold, 3 bronze), Gavin Thomopoulos (4 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze) and Jacob Van Horne with seven golds.
Aggregates winners were Megan Forrest (2nd), Dallas Gray (3rd), Jacob Van Horne (1st), Gavin Thomopoulos (2nd), Grayden Rusconi (3rd) and Jadyn Johnston (1st).
Most improved swimmer of the meet – the most number of seconds of improvement – was Mason Fernandes who scored improvements in all his times for a total of 82.90 seconds.
Swimmers with personal best times were Mason Fernandes (5), Dallas Gray (2), Hayden Grinceri (3), Jadyn Johnston (6), Lucas Johnston (4), Abbee Rusconi (5), Grayden Rusconi (3), Gavin Thomopoulos (3) and Jacob Van Horne (5).
The next regional meet will take place in Prince George in mid-November followed by Kitimat in December.
