Gentlemen’s Night at Crown Isle on June 28 belonged to Graeme Nelson. Graeme, whose goal is to play professionally, had his hard work ethic rewarded with an amazing low gross of 30 for the Prime Chop House. Graeme then added a 31 on the back nine for a total score of 61 – only one off the course record.
Low net of the evening with a 31 was won by Matt Hamilton for Hollis Wealth; Matt also won “KP Everyone” for Jim’s Clothes Closet. Other double prize winners were: Stan Campbell on #2 for KP 13+ for the Head Shed, and on #5 for KP 13+ for Scotia MacLeod Russ Keil; Mike Chatwin won KP-12 handicap for Sean Sweeney, Barristers; and Mike also won the “Blind Draw” for Budget Blinds. Crown Isle’s own Rod Prieto won “Closest to the White Spot” on #6 for the White Spot Restaurant; Rod also had the longest drive on #8 “closest to the 250 yard Magic Circle” for BMO Nesbitt Burns. Mark Villanueva won the “hidden hole”on #4 (par 3) with a score of seven and also the LD on #1 for KP 13+ for McDonalds.
Other winners were: Logan Yanick on #1 with an LD for Bill Anglin, Re/Max; Dave Clare won “2nd shot KP- 12” for Thrifty Foods; Gary Morton enjoyed “double bunkers” on #3 for Coastal Community Credit Union; On #3, Paul Skinner drove “closest to the Mustang” for Westview Ford;
On #4 Doug Irving had KP13+ for Assante Capital; Ray Iler made the “longest putt” on #4 for Finneron Hyundai; also on #5, Scott Sutherland got “any eagle gross or net” for the Eagle Radio 97.3FM. On hole #7, Rod Hunter got a sleeve of Pro V1’s from Sean Sweeney for his KP for 13+ handicap.
Charles Belanger either stubbed his toe or aimed at the “150 yard Magic Circle” for Brian Rice Toyota. Bruce Russell was “closest to the 200 yard Magic Circle” for Mike Hamilton Logging; Dale Pateman accounted for the “2nd shot closest to the house” on #9 for Art Meyers, Royal LePage;
On #16, Sandy Bain got the “KP everyone” for Gee Associates. Someone drew a nice new pair of underwear for Hartman Auto Supply; Koltan Almgren had the “joke of the night” for Canadian Tire; Chris Powers won the draw for Dave Wheeldon, CIBC Wood Gundy; and finally our event sponsor Sleeman’s Beer draw was won by Dennis Teasdale.
