The Grand Forks Border Bruins kept it close for a period and a half but lost 6-2 to the Nelson Leafs at Grand Forks Arena last night.
Down 2-1 entering the second period, the Border Bruins got a goal from forward Connor Bowen to tie the game – Connor Gross, the team’s leading scorer, netted the other goal.
Robert Dunsmuir was in net and made 39 saves.
The Border Bruins host the Beaver Valley Nitehawks tonight at Grand Forks Arena, a game that will be free of charge.
Following that, the Border Bruins head to Creston to play a Saturday night game against the Thunder Cats.
