Granfondo takes to the streets

2,600 cyclists will be hitting the road this morning for the South Okanagan's biggest cycling event

A weekend of cycling action got off to a great start Saturday at Granfondo Penticton with the Passo Apex Hill Climb and the Piccolofondo for the younger set.

The action continues today throughout the South Okanagan with 2,600 cyclists participating in a range of events, including the 160-kilometre Granfondo itself, which wends its way from Penticton to Summerland and back, down south of Oliver before finishing back in Penticton.

Keep your eyes open for cyclists, and there will be road closures in Penticton, including Main Street between Front Street and Wade Avenue from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and between Wade and Kinney from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
