Great day for Sunnydale Ladies Golf on May 10

Good weather and course conditions created great scoring opportunities for the 38 ladies who played at Sunnydale Golf and Country Club on Tuesday, May 10.

Laurie Appleyard had a “good golf day” being the low gross winner on a count-back against Crystal Friesen with a score of 88. She also had the longest putt on #9 and a birdie. Other low gross winners were Pat Peden (92), Judy Berkley (95), Carolyn Walker (96) and Joan Brown (98).

On the net side, Charlene Cebryk played seven shots under her handicap to win with an impressive score of 66.  Barb Dixson  was second with 72, Kathie Reid had 74, Linda Broadbent 76 and Marlene Gerrie, Betty Lund, Doris Squire and Penny Wagenstein all had scores of 77.

KPs were won by Vicki Bombini (#10 sponsored by Rob Speer Pro Shop); Crystal Friesen (#15) and Anne Marie Wotten (25+ Hcp on #5). Betty Lund had the lowest number of putts (28).

The Ladies Club has produced a 2016 Handbook and Schedule of Events which is available at the Pro Shop for $2. This booklet contains great information on the club’s many events.

We are already receiving entrants to this year’s Royal LePage Sunnydale Ladies Tillicum Golf Tournament which is scheduled for Aug. 6. This is a partnered two-ball tournament and includes a Friday night skills contest, wine and cheese social and Saturday lunch. Cost is $130 per team and an early bird draw for one team’s entry fee is scheduled for June 30. Grab a partner and get registered soon.
