Qualicum Beach’s Alison Grecht wrapped up an impressive season on the BMX racetrack, earning herself a few ‘number one’ plates along the way.

In the nationals, which took place in Chilliwack, Grecht was able to capture first place in the girls cruiser division, racing on BMX bikes with 24” wheels.

She finished first in the B.C. Cup series, first in the national age group (NAG) on a 20” bike, first in the cruiser category (NAG), and first place national overall points leader for cruiser girls.

“It’s been a great year,” Grecht said. “Definitely my best year of racing. I finished top three in everything and I couldn’t be more happy than this!”

Grecht also finished third place overall in the Canada Cup, which gives her a chance to be chosen to train at the Olympic Training Centre in Chula Vista, California.

From there, she’s planning on heading to the 2016 World Championships in Columbia.
