Greg Koster out to defend golf crown

B.C. Men's Mid-Amateur Championship goes June 4-6 in Abbotsford

The 28th annual British Columbia Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship goes June 4-6 at Ledgeview Golf Club in Abbotsford, with Courtenay’s Greg Koster looking to defend his 2012 Master-40 division crown.

The top Mid-Amateur and Master-40 men from the province will compete for the Hans Swinton Trophy.

With 2012 Mid-Amateur champion Kevin Carrigan electing to test his chances at the Victoria Times Colonist, this year’s title is up-for-grabs to the field of 106 players. Several players are poised to make a run for the win including recent PNGA Cup Team champions Koster, Cory Hilditch of Penticton, Travis Eggers of Fort St. John, Chris Moore of Vancouver and Nanaimo’s Sandy Harper.

Challenging Koster in the Master-40 division will be 2012 runner-up Greg Bismeyer of Pitt Meadows, Norm Bradley of Kelowna, Mike McAleer of Vancouver and Ritch Hosker of Fort St. John.
