The Nanaimo Clippers weren’t able to build on Friday’s big win as they were defeated 5-2 by the Victoria Grizzlies on Sunday on the road.
Two Clippers players returning from injury scored the goals, with Tristan Crozier opening the scoring in the game and Sean Buchanan adding a second-period marker.
Victoria took a 3-2 lead into the third period, though, and extended the margin from there.
Evan DeBrouwer suffered the loss in goal as his team outshot the host squad 30-26.
In other Nanaimo Clippers news, the team traded away a pair of forwards this month, dealing 20-year-old Adam Donnelly to the Carleton Place Canadians of the Central Canada Hockey League and 19-year-old Tate Coughlin to the Camrose Kodiaks of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
GAME ON … The Clippers close out their pre-Christmas schedule with road games Friday through Sunday (Dec. 16-18) at Wenatchee, West Kelowna and Coquitlam.
