Grizzlies soar in latest CJHL rankings

The Victoria Grizzlies moved up nine spots in the CJHL rankings, making them the top BCHL team in the national top 20.

The Victoria Grizzlies made the biggest move in this week’s Canadian Junior Hockey League Top-20 rankings.

They leaped from No. 19 to No. 8, making them the top BCHL squad on the list. The Penticton Vees are close behind at No. 11, one spot lower than last week. The Powell River Kings hold steady at No. 15.

No BCHL teams earned honorable mentions.

The Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Spruce Grove Saints and Fort McMurray Oil Barons hold down the top two spots, followed by the Central Canada Hockey League’s Carleton Place Canadians.

The CJHL Top 20 rates the best of the best from the 10 junior A leagues based upon a variety of factors, including the league in which the team plays, winning percentage, win-loss record, total points accumulated, goals-for versus goals-against ratio, etc.
