The Revelstoke Grizzlies played the Chase Heat on Feb. 8 and lost 4-3.

The Revelstoke Grizzlies played the Chase Heat on Feb. 8 and lost 4-3.

The Heat took the lead early in the game with a power play goal by Evan Vinterlik, assisted by Cam Watson and Breckin Erichuk at 10:25.

Five minutes later Vinterlik score again, assisted by Gavin Mattey.

The first period saw eight penalties, four for each team.

The Grizzlies put one on the board less than three minutes into the second with a goal by Cater Anderson, assisted by Raymond Speerbrecker.

But the Heat maintained their two goal lead, with a goal less than two minutes later by Tyson Lampreau, assisted by Vinterlik and Tyler Collens.

The Grizzlies narrowed the lead with less than four minutes left in the second period with a goal by Nathan Bailer, assisted by Cash Sawchyn.

The second period saw another eight penalties, with Grizzlies in the box three times.

In the third the Heat secured their win with a goal by Breckin Erichuk, assisted by Evan Hughes and Cody Allen at 9:19. Though Kaeden Patrick scored the Grizzlies’ third goal of the night, assisted by Tommy Bodtker and Rider McCallum with four minutes left on the clock, they couldn’t make a come back.

The third period saw only two penalties.

Noah Desouza played goal for the Grizzlies, stopping 23 shots. Geoff Drought played for the Heat, stopping 39 shots.

The Grizzlies played at home the following day against the Summerland Steam, winning 5-0.

Patrick scored the only goal in the first period, assisted by Cody Flann and Bodtker.

Carter Anderson scored a power play goal with less than seven minutes left in the second period, assisted by Jaden Hay and Bodtker.

Patrick scored again with 28 seconds left on the clock, assisted by Flann and Bodtker.

In the third period Brenden Vulcano scored assisted by Bodtker and Patrick and Rider McCallum scored assisted by Flann and Bodtker.

The Summerland goalies saw 34 shots in total.

Liam McGarva, of the Grizzlies, saved 22 shots.
