The Single Track 6 race is once again underway in the West Kootenay with Nelson set to host two stages.
The annual mountain bike race, which features cyclists from 18 different countries, began Saturday with the first three stages in Rossland. The race moved to the Nelson area for the fourth stage on Tuesday at the Smallwood Creek trail west of the city.
Riders then move on to Kaslo for the fifth stage Wednesday before returning to Nelson for the final stage Thursday.
The sixth stage will begin at Falls and Baker Streets at 8:05 a.m. Cyclists will head up Stanley towards Mines Road at the end of Silver King Road.
From there, they go up Giveout Forest Service Road toward the Morning Mountain trail network, before circling back to the finish line at the corner of Silver King and Mines.
It would be great to see people from our community out showing our town spirit and support for all of the hard efforts the riders have put in to complete the gruelling six-day event. Come out and take in the excitement.
