GW Graham wallops Ballenas Whalers in junior football playoff

Logan Buchwitz scored four touchdowns for the Grizzlies in a one-sided 40-0 win.

GW Graham’s junior varsity football team is moving on in the playoffs after demolishing one of Vancouver Island’s top teams.

The Grizzlies took down the Ballenas (Parksville) Whalers by a 40-0 count Wednesday afternoon at Exhibition Stadium and now move on to face either John Barsby (Nanaimo) or Pitt Meadows.

Neither team should be excited to see GWG.

As he usually does, Logan Buchwitz led the offensive assault against Ballenas with four touchdowns, three running and one receiving. His biggest play was a 94 yarder.

Kaleb Spanner scored a major on an 82 yard scamper, and had an 87 yarder nullified by a holding penalty.

GW Graham got a defensive touchdown from Nick Beck, who stepped in front of a Whaler receiver and took off running 65 yards down the left sideline. Jaxon Visser also had an interception and Darwin Douglas was dominant on the defensive line.
