The 38th Annual Hallis Lake Ski Tournament for youth is coming up Feb. 22.
The free event is open to all high school and elementary school students and promises a fun day of cross-country ski racing.
The event typically draws around 100 youth to the Cariboo Ski Touring Club grounds. Originally only open to elementary students, the decision was made to allow older students to compete to further promote the sport and include as many young athletes as possible.
Last year, École Red Bluff Lhtako finished first in the school group category, while Dragon Lake finished second and Carson was third.
The registration deadline for the event is Feb. 18, and anyone interested in taking part can contact Sunshine Borsato at 250-983-9300. More information about the event and registration can be found on the Cariboo Ski Touring Club website at caribooski.ca.
