Surrey’s Laurie Harding competed at the American Bicycle Association’s Race of Champions and Grand Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma last month.
Harding qualified for theĀ largest BMX race in North America by placing first in the B.C. provincial series in her age group. She placed first in her cruiser race and second in her 20 inch class.
Harding began racing BMX a decade ago with the Newton-based Action BMX club, doing so to spend more time with her kids and to get some exercise. After her kids stopped racing, she decided to stick with it and spends much of her spare time helping at local tracks coaching kids and adults of all ages.
