Hawrys scores in loss

After jumping out to a 2-0 lead, Brett Hawrys and the Coquitlam Adanacs find themselves in a best-of-three Minto Cup Junior A Lacrosse series with the Six Nations Arrows.

Game 5 went Thursday night at the Langley Events Centre with the series knotted 2-2.

The Arrows socked the Adanacs 10-7 in Game 4 of the national series Wednesday night at the LEC.

Hawrys, of Armstrong, scored a third period goal to give him three goals and six points this series. Challen Rogers sniped a pair for the Adanacs, while Josh Johnson buried four goals and two helpers for the Arrows.

The Arrows assaulted the Adanacs 19-5 in Game 3 Tuesday night at the LEC.

Hawrys was held off the scoresheet, only registering four shots.

The leading scorers for each side took over in Game 3. Johnny Powless, captain of the Ontario champion Arrows bagged a pair of goals along with five assists, to give him five goals and 19 points.

Adanacs’ leading sniper, Eli McLaughlin, finished with two goals and three assists to give him six goals and 16 points.

Game 6 is set for Saturday night. If necessary, the seventh and deciding game would be Sunday.
