High school girls’ soccer kicks off

The girls’ high school soccer season started last week, with Pitt Meadows winning their first match of the 2011 senior AA season with a convincing 3-0 win over the Thomas Haney Thunder at home on the school’s new artificial turf field, last Wednesday.

The Samuel Robertson Technical Secondary School Titans lost to Hatzic secondary 4-0 Monday afternoon in their first test of the year.

In junior action, Pitt beat Archbishop Carney 2-0 last Tuesday, while Westview played to a 0-0 draw with Charles Best. On Thursday,

Thomas Haney topped Westview 3-2, while Pitt Meadows picked up their second win of the season beating Charles Best 3-2.

Grade 8/9 girls’ action gets underway this week with Pitt, SRT, Thomas Haney, and Garibaldi all scheduled to play Tuesday afternoon.
