It wasn’t the podium place he was looking for, but Vernon’s Kevin Hill knows there is still plenty of track to cover in the upcoming snowboard cross season.
After placing 15th in qualifying at the FIS world cup season opener in Telluride, Colo., Hill slipped to 18th in Friday’s main event.
“On the bright side it’s the first race of the year, didn’t get hurt,” said Hill, on his Facebook page.
Christopher Robanske of Calgary was runner-up behind Frenchman Pierre Vaultier.
The team event went Saturday.
