Club basketball tryouts begin this Sunday night from 7:30 untill 8:45 and next Wednesday night from 8 to 9:30, after which a 10-man roster will be in place.
This is a community team, not a school team. Anyone in this area can try out regardless if they are EMCS students or not. All players from Grade 11 and under are welcome.
Players must not wear school uniforms or be called the Wolverines. They will play as SBC Basketball (Sooke Boys Club) and will have to register with Basketball BC as a community team and that will cost $9 per player, insurance included.
Mesh reversible jerseys have been ordered and will cost $25. Players will keep these afterwards.
Sooke will host a club tourney from May 15 -17, named after a past player, co-coach, and good friend, the late Trevor Purdy. Teams from Saanich, Colwood and Vancouver will participate. A visiting team from Denmark will be billeted locally for those three days as well.
