Claudia Harper is holding the sixth annual Horse and Pony Camp.
She is happy to be teaching for another year. “The children are great,” she says. “They learn a large amount about care and safety around horses, and they just soak it up like a sponge.”
Harper is heading off to Florida to ride FEI for one of the top U.S. riders and will be back on March 17 so contact her then (250-334-7504) or call the Courtenay Recreation Association (250-338-5371) to sign up for the spring break camp.
Harper is also considering teaching a camp to adults. Those interested are asked to contact the CRA.
Also upcoming for the keen and avid horse person, Harper is bringing in a vet from the mainland to give a talk on “The Anatomy of the Horses Limb.”
This was well-received last time and she has only a few spaces left for the March 24 event at the Lower Native Sons Hall.
