The host team emerged victorious from Duncan Christian School’s Senior Boys Invitational Volleyball Tournament last Friday.
The Chargers topped a six-team field at the one-day tournament, capping it all off with a 25-22, 27-25, 15-10 win over Comox’s Gaglardi Academy in the final.
“I am so impressed that the boys came with an attitude of making good plays on each point,” said assistant coach Scott Young. “They encouraged each other, and played with integrity and love for the game. Each match was a unique challenge but their consistency with their attitude is what won them the gold. They played hard and wanted to enjoy the experience.”
The Chargers opened the tournament by beating Nanaimo Christian 25-12, 24-26, 15-12, then defeated Sooke’s Edward Milne Community School 25-10, 25-11. They won the semifinal 25-22, 25-18 over Vic High.
