Host Pitt Meadows will play in tournament final tonight

Bronze medal game will see SRT against Maple Ridge Christian

The host Pitt Meadows Marauders will play in the championship game of their host senior girls basketball tournament Saturday night at 6 p.m.

They will take on the G.P. Vanier Towhees of Courtenay in the final.

The Samuel Robertson Technical Titans will take on the Maple Ridge Christian Hornets in an all-local bronze medal game.

The times for the medal games have been switched from the schedule, to accomodate visiting team travel. So Pitt will play for gold at 6 p.m., while the bronze medal game will go at 7:30 p.m. tonight.

The Marauders won their first game 70-22 over Salish Secondary of Surrey, as Vanessa Lagrange put up 25 points, 17 rebounds and 10 steals for a triple double, and was named the player of the game.

Ajanee Perdue had 18 rebounds and 12 points, while Madison Ferguson scored nine.

Pitt met SRT in their second game on Saturday at noon, and won a close contest 62-58.

Chantelle Zinger won player of the game for her eight steals, 13 rebounds and 12 points. Lagrange scored 20 with 18 rebounds, and Kyla Malone had 12 points and 11 boards.

The Titans were led by Rylee Dickson with 17 points including three treys, and Emiko Nagai had 16 points.

SRT won their opener 59-31 against a Enver Creek Cougars team that had only four players there for the game. Dickson was the player of the game with 13 points, while Kailin Wood led the scoring with 16 points.
