Jets fly to top of tournament

The Salmon Arm Jets, a Pre-Novice team of four, five and six year olds sponsored by Tim Hortons, went undefeated at their home tournament on Jan. 15 at the Sunwave Centre.

The Salmon Arm Jets, a Pre-Novice team of four, five and six year olds sponsored by Tim Hortons, went undefeated at their home tournament on Jan. 15 at the Sunwave Centre.

They beat Merritt in the first game 9-2. The second game was against the North Okanagan Knights. The Jets went down early 4-0, but had a shift in the second period where they scored two goals and turned the momentum in their favour. They won a good, hard-fought game 8-5. Their third game was against Sicamous. The game went back and forth for most of the first two periods but the Jets gained momentum in the third, winning 8-4. Goals, assists and rock-solid goaltending were provided by: Drayk Ekland, Eli Ekland, Finn Rodewll, Gabe Niewenhuizen, Jack Doray, Sam Doray, Jaden Bitz, Jude Adams, Leo DeRosa, Lucas Patterson, Maddox Martin, Noel Arnason, Rydell Scott, Toryn Sherman and Trent Stewart.  There in spirit and cheering them on from afar was teammate Kennedy Seeley. The Jets are coached by Gregg Patterson, assistants Steve Rodwell and Pat Sherman, with trainer Ken Adams.
