Two Nanaimo martial arts athletes had podium finishes on the mats this month.
C.J. Martial Arts and Fitness representatives were in Richmond on Aug. 19 for the Jiu Jitsu Ohana Championship hosted by Katana Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Nic Arenburg, competing for just the second time in an adult division, won all three of his matches to take gold in his white belt division. Maggy Meier, a green belt, took silver after competing in three matches.
