High school rugby action continues with several senior boys’ games on April 7

High school rugby action continues with several senior boys’ games on April 7, plus Scrum Fest, hosted by Claremont Secondary later in the week.

Tuesday’s games will begin at 3:45 p.m. with Glenlyon Norfolk School hosting Sooke’s Edward Milne Community School and St. Michaels University School welcoming Spectrum.

On the junior pitch, Oak Bay hosts SMUS in exhibition play Wednesday, April 8.

In Cordova Bay Claremont’s seventh annual Scrum Fest hits the pitch April 9 to 11, with up to 30 teams expected in three categories: Junior Boys (U16), Senior Boys (U18), and mixed-grade Girls’ 7s.

A handful of high school senior badminton games are also on the calendar this coming week.

Among the six sets of games scheduled for Tuesday, April 7, Oak Bay’s Glenlyon Norfolk visits Reynolds, while Oak Bay High School visits neighbour Mt. Douglas and SMUS heads across town to Claremont.

Court action continues Thursday, April 9 when Oak Bay visits Claremont. All games will start at 3:45 p.m.

The regular season is about to start for the Victoria Mariners and Victoria Eagles baseball clubs.

Based at Henderson Park, the Mariners’ regular season opens at home  against North Shore April 18 before the squad heads north to take on the Parksville Royals April 19.

The Premier Eagles get things going at Lambrick Park April 11 against the Nanaimo Pirates, while April 12 brings the  Parksville Royals to Eagles territory. The April 11 games will start at 11:30 a.m., with April 12’s going at noon.

This Friday, April 3, catch the Carnarvon Park-based Eagles Bantam AAA Black team in pre-season exhibition play against the Victoria Mariners Junior Premier squad. Games start at noon and 3 p.m. at Layritz Park. Games
