The next Shuswap Bigfoot Winter Trail event steps out next Tuesday, Feb. 14 with a Valentine’s two-part, after-school special.
Part One: (call to reserve) Snowshoe tour from 3 to 5 p.m. of the White Lake Ecosystem. Meet at the John Evdokimoff (White Lake) Bike Park. John’s Ski Shack will have snowshoes on hand for people to demo. Call to reserve: 250-832-3457. Rentals also at Skookum Cycle and Ski, 250-832-7368. Call 250-835-8766 to reserve a spot. Space is limited.
Part Two: (drop-in) Magic on the Lake from 5 to 8 p.m. The fire will be warm and the hot chocolate delicious. Come for an evening on Little White Lake, with skating, skiing and snowshoeing. The skating rink in front of the Massey yard (east end of Little White Lake) will be lit, and a lantern-lit trail will guide you around a 2-km ski or snowshoe track. Bring your headlamp, hot dogs and buns, and make Valentine memories, weather permitting.
Other snacks and contributions welcome. Remember chairs and musical instruments.
