The Okanagan Junior Athletics split four games with North Delta as both the senior and junior A’s were in action in Kelowna on the weekend.
David Tongue of the Junior Athletics started the weekend off on the right foot for the Junior A’s as he tossed a complete game four hitter as the A’s defeated North Delta 7-3 to open the four game set. A five-run second inning was enough offensive support for Tongue, who struck our four in the win.
In the night-cap on Saturday, North Delta scored 13 runs in the final three innings of the contest to come back and score a 14-7 victory.
Sunday the teams also split a double-header as the Junior Athletics won 4-2 before losing 3-2.
In the win, Brandon Belbin tossed a complete game to earn the win, allowing just one earned run in seven innings of work. Parker Friesen scored twice and drove in a run at the plate.
Once again North Delta would bounce back in the second game of the day, beating Okanagan 3-1 with Trevor Pereverzoff drove in the club’s lone run.

After dropping two one-run games on Saturday by 3-2 and 6-5 scores, the Athletics got on the winning side early Sunday as Morgan Lofstrom earned the win in relief, tossing four innings and striking our four along the way.
Offensively Dawson Yates drove in two runs in the victory.
Another one-run loss capped off the weekend for the A’s as they lost 6-5 to the Cardinals.
