It was a rare occurrence at the ballpark for the Langley Junior Blaze.
For just the second time this season, the U16 baseball team was on the wrong end of a 5-4 score, falling to the White Rock Junior Tritons on June 4 at McLeod Athletic Park.
The loss dropped the team to 17-2 in the B.C. Junior Premier Baseball League.
The Blaze looked in control after opening up a 4-0 with four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Yi-An Pan delivered a two-run single while Jaron Jeske also had an RBI single.
But White Rock (9-9) scored three in the sixth and the Blaze were one out away from the win before surrendering two more runs in the seventh to hand Langley just its second loss in 19 games.
Matthew Poirier was tagged with the loss, allowing two runs over one and two-thirds innings of work.
Parker Logan allowed three runs while striking out five over five and one-thirds innings.
Langley hosts the Okanagan Junior Athletics (5-14) in a four-game set on June 7 and 8 at McLeod Park.
