The Langley Junior Blaze offence was in mid-season form to open their season.
The 16 and under baseball team put up back-to-back 10-spots to sweep a doubleheader over the Whalley Junior Chiefs.
The teams were playing on Sunday at McLeod Athletic Park.
Langley won 10-0 in the opener and 10-7 in the back-half.
Joshua Mirecki pitched a gem in the opener, allowing just one hit over five innings.
Brendan Winning led the offence with a double and triple, driving in one run.
The offence was spread out as five Blaze players — Carson Chorpita, Solomon Michaud, Brandon Nicoll, Russell Young and Terrell Rogers — drove in one run apiece.
Sunday’s second game saw Whalley race out to a 4-0 lead after their turn at-bat in the first inning but Langley countered with three runs in their half of the inning and then took the lead for good with four runs in the bottom of the second.
Nicoll led the offence with three doubles and four RBIs while Owen Halstrom also had an RBI double.
Rogers took over in the third inning and struck out six of the dozen batters he faced, while allowing no hits, to earn the win.
Langley (2-0) is back in action on April 19 when they face the White Rock Junior Tritons at South Surrey Athletic Park.
