They might be competing with older students from much bigger schools, but Clearwater Secondary School 
junior boys volleyball team could end up near the top of their league, according to coach Sylvain Menard.
“The boys are in a tough league this year, as they are competing against teams from schools that are five times the size of ours,” Menard said. “Most of those teams are made up of Grade 10 players while ours is made up of Grade 8 to Grade 10.”
The coach added, “Despite that, we won some and lost some, but all games have been close and, with some hard work in the coming weeks and a few surprises up the coach’s sleeves, we have some good chances to finish in the top three.”
The junior boys played at South Kamloops Secondary on Wednesday. Their next games will be at Westsyde on Nov. 7. Look for results in a future issue of the Times.
