Junior Shamrocks advance to league finals

Tier 1 Junior B sweep the Port Coquitlam Saints

The Victoria Shamrocks’ Tier 1 Junior B team are headed to the league finals after sweeping the Port Coquitlam Saints in the best-of-three semi-final series on the weekend.

The ‘Rocks opened the series with a resounding 17-10 victory at The Q Centre on Saturday. It was a tight game through the first period with the Shamrocks leading 6-5, but they stretched their lead to 12-9 through 40 minutes and dominated the third period, outscoring the Saints 5-1.

In the final game, the Shamrocks continued to steamroll over the Saints with a 10-6 win in the mainland.

The Shamrocks will face off against the Coquitlam Adanacas in the league final at The Q Centre this month.

A date had not been announced by the time the Gazette went to print.
